Denver Federal Center
Grid Tied Ground Mounted and Carport PV System
OVERVIEW
Centerre was selected to manage the turn-key design and installation of two field array systems over an area of approximately 10 acres as well as 13 photovoltaic carport systems.
There were two principal scopes of work under this contract. Scope of work #1 included the design and installation of over 11,000 panels for a ground array on two separate fields at the Denver Federal Center. The two fields were over a half mile apart and comprised of over 14 acres. Installation of the ground array included erection and assembly of a fixed tilt racking system and installation of solar panels. The racking system included installation of over 1,700 driven posts and site preparation on the 14-acre site.
Scope of work #2 included the design and installation of 14 separate carports with the installation of 4,000 solar panels on these carports. The carports will provide protection for the cars that park under the carport as well as provide solar power with the panels on top of the carports. Installation included erection and assembly of carports, foundations, and asphalt paving. Installation also included erection and assembly of the racking system and installation of panels. A total of 15,160 solar panels were installed for the Ground Mount and Carport arrays that will produce 4,677,240 kWh per year.
The project required Centerre to monitor the work associated with the contaminated soil at the DFC, to safely erect the carports and solar PV racking systems.
