Stonegate Community
Center
OVERVIEW
The new 4,000 sf Stonegate Community Center is a multi-use facility that services the residents of Stonegate Village Metropolitan District. The community center and pools will be used for family functions, neighborhood gatherings, professional meetings, swim meets, and scout troops as well as many other functions. The community center includes a community room, kitchen, restrooms, changing rooms, pool check-in, snack bar, and a pool mechanical room. Additional construction includes a new zero-entry toddler pool, replacement of existing pool deck, separate changing rooms, restrooms, new site lighting, parking expansion, and landscaping for the 3.3 acre site.
Scope of work also included zero-entry pool, new eight-foot commercial slide, new twenty-foot commercial slide, replacement of approximately 30,000 sf of existing pool deck around three existing pools, new site lighting and new landscaping for a 3.3. acre site. Per the recommendations of the soils engineer and civil engineer, the pool deck was over excavated two feet and re-compacted to help prevent heaving. Additionally, the new and existing deck replacement had a trench drain system installed to mitigate water drainage beneath the pool deck. The trench drain system was drained into the adjacent park by day-lighting the storm lines into riprap. At the new leisure pool, an under drain system was installed below the pool after the existing soil was over excavated five feet and structural fill was imported for the new pool base. The underdrain for the pool was also daylighted into the adjacent park.
