Western Campus
OVERVIEW
United Power, an electric cooperative, headquartered in Brighton, Colorado provides retail electric power on a not-for-profit basis to customers located in Adams, Broomfield, Weld, Jefferson, Boulder and Gilpin Counties in Colorado.
To enable more efficient service in their Western territory, United Power selected Centerre as the design-build contractor, teaming with BurkettEUA, to renovate a 130,000 sf single-story industrial tilt-up building in Longmont, CO for their office and warehouse use. Scope included replacing the HVAC, fire protection and electric systems, removal and replacement of ballasted roof, painting the entire exterior of the building, installation of new skylights, flashing and parapet caps. The interior renovations included the construction of a new 24/7 hardened dispatch center with redundant HVAC and emergency power constructed out of masonry walls and slab on metal deck ceiling to withstand severe weather conditions. The hardened dispatch center was constructed to protect sensitive IT servers, infrastructure, dispatch services, and provide shelter in case of an emergency. Interior renovations included the construction of conference rooms, offices, breakrooms, kitchen and a community center for United Power customers to utilize for meetings. The warehouse renovations included installation of new Overhead Doors, loading ramps, washbays, vehicle storage with CO sensors and exhaust systems, HLVS fans, vehicle maintenance and high bay warehousing. Centerre also painted the entire exterior of the warehouse building.
